Making a selection of a daycare is an important decision for the well-being and development of your child and for the whole family! This can be a challenging process, so we’ve compiled several resources below from our long history. Below you’ll find resources and suggestions of questions for you to ask any potential care provider for your little ones.
Why is this important? State Licensing means that a care facility has been thoroughly screened by the Washington State Department, which ensures a level of quality of care and facility safety. This involves many aspects of care – for example, State Inspectors randomly audit daycares to verify the safety of the facility, check the Teacher to Student ratios, ensure the quality of the curriculum programs, etc. The Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool has been state licensed for the last 25 years with an impeccable reputation for high standards and quality services. Children of different ages have differing needs – for example, for children learning to potty train, having a restroom nearby is really important! Our center was built from the ground up to be a place of child-care, and has been carefully designed to provide an open environment, yet provide age-appropriate spaces.
Since the staff of the center is responsible for the education and care of your children, it’s important to ensure that the facility has well trained teachers and management. At the Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool, the owner and director Kerry has a Ph.D in early childhood development. And all of the staff go through continual training to ensure that they’re well qualified to care for the children of our center.
To ensure a safe and stimulating outdoor play environment, it’s important that a center have age appropriate outdoor spaces. For example, toddlers and school age children have different abilities and needs, and so at the Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool, we have several large and separate outdoor play areas that have been carefully designed to be age appropriate.
To support health development, children need healthy and nutritious meals! At the Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool, we have our own in house kitchen with a chef that prepares fresh healthy meals for our children (Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon Snack). In fact, our food programs and menus certified and approved by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture), which provides yet another level of confidence to our parents that their children are well cared for at our center.
As a parent, it’s important that you have ability to stop by and visit your child at any time during the day. At the Gingerbread House Daycare and Preschool, we welcome parents to come by at any time.
